Q. How do we prove co-ordinated incitement of death threats targeting cross-party pro-Remain MPs?

What we did?

We were tasked with proving or disproving deliberate co-ordination, funding and incitement of death threats targeting pro-Remain MPs from all parties based on research Signify had previously supplied to Parliament.

Working with MPs and other persons of interest we collated public and private threats and pressure campaigns, utilised forensic techniques to de-anonymise threat makers, investigated links and ran social network analysis to map the reach and influence of groups and organisations of interest.

We used proprietary techniques to recover deleted materials and investigate historic accounts involved in threats.

We also investigated, analysed and mapped company ownership, affiliation and funding routes.

Key insights.

We were able to identify and de-anonymise a number of threatening / abusive accounts - working with the Houses of Parliament and authorities to take action - leading to criminal charges and prosecution.

Our findings became the subject of an ITV documentary (Exposure) focused on fixated abuse and pressure exerted on MPs over their support of a second referendum and the Remain cause.
